About | Current Skin Care

Make-up Removers:
I usually use Bio Derma to remove makeup but I have been trying cheaper alternatives. And let me tell you not all Crealine Waters are the same. I will do a 'My thought' on the different Crealine Waters I have tried. Right now I am using Reversa Cleansing Micellar Solution. Its major selling feature is that it has a pump. I am constantly dropping my skin care bottles and wasting product.

Cleansers:
After the Make up remover I follow up with Yonka Cleansing Crème (which is the first cream cleanser I have ever tried and now I am a convert).
On occasion I will use the Neostrata and Biore when I feel I need to deep clean. These are not my favorites for deep cleaning but I am trying to use the products up. One that I have been enjoying lately is the Neutrogena Deep Clean Long-Last Shine Control Cleanser/Mask. I highly recommend it. It has an odd texture. Its like moose with tiny little crystals (shh don't tell my derm).

I prefer to use African Black soap since it is nature. I am going to insert a stock picture since I don't have any at the moment. (I buy mine from Sheaterraorganics.com)
My dermatologist has not yet given me a prescription cleanser but has said I am not allowed to use any cleaners with “acne fighting” ingredients... I will try to follow his instructions but no promises.

Toners:
I use to have a couple alcohol toners and stopped using them because they stripped by skin. I just started using toners again and I chose to go with the cult favorite Caudalie Toner (I'm a fan).

HOLY GRAIL.

If I am not mistaken it has some alcohol, but for some reason it doesn't strip my skin. I am in love. I ran out a week ago and the thought on not having it freaked me out. There is another product I use this with that I will mention later.

Moisturizers:
I have a couple on the go right now. I have the Yonka Crème 11, 15 and 85. I am enjoying them and have found that they do soothe my skin. The only issue I have is that that they are not moisturizing enough for all day wear.

Some others I have:

I am looking to buy an eye cream because I have always had dry flakes under my eyes. Not a lot but it’s still not cute.

I have a sample of Eminence Organic Skin Care Guava & Bamboo Age Defying Moisturizer. What do I think about it? It' okay. Nothing super special.

I have used a couple Shisiedo eye creams but they burned and created more flaking. I do have some fine lines starting but cannot use and currently am not interested in retinols. I have started using Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream. Initially I didn't like it but now that I am on Accutane it's perfect.

Serums:
I have found my HOLY GRAIL serum. All thanks to EssieButton. Will do a review on it later but here it is:

Exfoliates:
I am not allowed to use because I am on Accutane.
Spot Treatment: This would be the longest list of products I have if I were to categorize my skin care. Anyway, a few weeks ago I had a Yonka facial and the esthetician used Juvenvil. She gave me what was remaining in the capsule and I did find that it help with my acne. It did not react badly with the prescription products.

Masks:
The list of masks I have would be the shortest of all the categories but I do have quite a few for an average person. I hate using them. And they take too much effort. Most of the masks I have are for acne. An overnight mask that is moisturizing would be great to try.

Accutane | Week 2

Hello again. So this is the end of Week 2 on Accutane. I experienced some pretty horrible migraines. I have no idea if that has anything to do with the Accutane. I feel dehydrated all the time. I have been taking pretty good care of my skin. I have been using Antipodes Avocado and Pear Nourishing Night Crème every night and I have now begun to implement it in the morning. My skin doesn't feel dry at the end of the day unless I am outside.

It has been pretty stressful week at work but I haven’t gotten any stress related breakouts yet. The acne continues to appear flat but I do have 3 pimples that are slightly painful. The pain that I am experiencing is nothing in comparison to before taking Accutane.

I am on my second cycle of Diane 35 and my breasts continue to be tender. If I didn't mention that before and if that is too much information, sorry. But lets keep real. I have read reviews that Diane 35 can make your breasts larger. I have had no such luck.  Hehehe. Personally, I think that the people that experience this are those that have a significant weight gain on the pill. FYI, my cheeks are looking horrible.

Anyway, I will post some new pictures soon. I should do some FOTD's to balance the amount of ugly pics I have been posting.
